Bikers involved in a fight alongside Interstate 44 in Pulaski County Saturday remained mum throughout a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation. Even a woman who reportedly was shot during the altercation would not talk to law enforcement.
According to MSHP Troop I spokesman Sgt. Dan Crain, witnesses reported that at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday, a fight between two groups of motorcyclists broke out at the 150 mile marker of I-44 near Buckhorn. A group of about 20 people were fighting, causing the interstate to be briefly shut down.
During the fight, two women reportedly received what Crain called minor and “superficial” gunshot wounds.
“Even though it sounds like it would be major (to receive a gunshot wound), they were very minor wounds,” he said.
One of the gunshot victims was taken to St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon but refused treatment.
Law enforcement from the MSHP, St. Robert and Waynesville police departments and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area.
“By the time we got there, it was basically cleared,” Crain said.
