A 26-year-old Lebanon man has been charged with second-degree murder and felony armed criminal action in connection with the stabbing death of a 53-year-old Lebanon man Monday night.

Bradley Wayne Montgomery is being held in the Laclede County Jail without bond in the death of Gaylon Glenn Bennett Monday at a home at 1101 Ivey Lane.

According to Lebanon Police Department Public Information Officer Tim Early, an exact motive for the killing is unclear and officers continue to investigate.

Montgomery was arraigned in Laclede County Associate Circuit Court on Wednesday and entered a not guilty plea. Court records do not indicate whether Montgomery has secured council. His next court date is set for 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Officers were called to the mobile home that Montgomery and Bennett shared at about 10:01 p.m. Monday after a 911 call regarding an unresponsive man at the residence.
