Homecoming 2012 turned out to be no contest on Friday at Yellowjacket Stadium.
Senior Kara Wood was crowned Homecoming Queen 2012 and the ‘Jackets pitched their second shutout in three weeks, showing off their newest offensive weapon in a 52-0 win over West Plains.
The ‘Jackets were coming off a 43-40 week 5 loss to Hillcrest in Springfield, but rebounded against West Plains to hold the Zizzers to just 65 yards of total offense and forced five turnovers in the contest.
“I thought we played excellent defense, and I thought the special teams played much better,” Lebanon head coach Will Christian said. “And offensively, I thought we did a lot of good things too. It was a pretty complete ballgame.
“But I still feel an overwhelming push to continue to get better. I know that our football team wants to do some big things. That is kind of where I am at right now.
“It is a good win.”
Lebanon got two touchdowns and 151 yards rushing on eight carries from senior running back Brock West on Friday. With Lebanon leading 31-0 at the half, West opened the third quarter with a 58-yard touchdown run on the opening play of the third quarter.
West now has 1,105 yards rushing this season and scored his 20th touchdown on Friday.
