R-3 updates district website

The Lebanon R-3 School District will be launching a more “modern” website next week.

For the past few weeks, Communications Director Jacy Overstreet and Technology Director Scott Shellhorn have been working on overhauling the district’s website to make it more modern and add more features to keep parents and the community better informed on what is going on in the district. Overstreet announced earlier this week at the Lebanon R-3 Board of Education’s monthly meeting that the website will launch sometime next week.

“We’re really excited to have a modern website that is very competitive with other school districts in our area. It will be really easy to find information that parents and staff will need,” Overstreet told the board Tuesday night.

The website will contain all of the basic information about the district that is on the current site but will also make room for more news and articles. The commonly sought information like lunches, sport schedules and transportation details have been moved to quick links on the page to make it easier to navigate.

“We think this will be a very improved communication tool for the district, and we know it was a big need for the district,” Overstreet said.
