Bluegrass festival starts Thursday


For three days this week, the Conway area will be transformed into a mecca for bluegrass music fans as a longstanding tradition draws professional musicians to the area.

The 26th Annual Fall Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Park in Conway.

According to the flyer for the festival, the event will feature performances from 12 bands, including the Grascals, Special Consensus, Donna Ulisse and the Poor Mountain Boys and Rhonda Vincent and the Rage.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a 40-minute performance by Big Mill, and concerts will continue until 10:40 p.m. The second and third days of the festival will each kick off at 11 a.m. with performances by guest bands. The final performance on Friday will end at 10:40 p.m. and the final performance on Saturday will end at 10:35 p.m.
