Sen. Roy Blunt visited Jordan Valley Community Health Center on Friday to tour the facility and discuss health care with professionals and board members from Pathways and Jordan Valley.

According to Jordan Valley staff, Blunt discussed several topics, including a Jordan Valley’s comprehensive approach to health care, a program that allows emergency rooms to refer patients experiencing dental pain to Jordan Valley and a pilot program for behavioral health care. Blunt said that the meeting also discussed possible solutions for opioid abuse.

In an interview with the Lebanon Daily Record, Blunt focused on the Excellence in Mental Health Bill. Blunt said that under the bill, Missouri is one of eight pilot states that will treat behavioral health “like all other health” for two years.
