As most people prepare for Thanksgiving, a Conway High School junior is already preparing for Christmas as he rehearses for his lead role in a Springfield play.
Bud Triplett has been cast as Buddy the Elf in Springfield Little Theatre’s production of "Elf Jr. the Musical," which will run Thursdays through Sundays Nov. 24 to Dec. 10.
“This is pretty much the highest level that I’ve done before, and I really like the challenge of it,” Triplett stated. “I enjoy it a lot.”
According to the Springfield Little Theatre website, "Elf Jr. the Musical" is based on the movie "Elf." The comedy tells the story of a young orphan named Buddy who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag and is transported to the North Pole, where he is raised unaware that he is human. When his size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth, he heads to New York City to find his birth father. Along the way, he discovers that many New Yorkers don’t believe in the spirit of Christmas, and he becomes determined to win over his family and help New York City remember the true meaning of Christmas.
