Centenarians stress importance of voting

While many a young person forgot to vote on Tuesday, decided not to take the time or just didn’t care, Felix and Margaret Marshall made the major effort to cast their votes despite the cold weather. Both first voted for President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Depression years. Later this year, Felix will turn 102 and in August, Margaret will be 100.
“I saw President Roosevelt once,” Margaret recalled. “It was during the war when I was working in an aircraft factory in Tulsa. They drove him right down the aisle of the plant.”
Turning back to Tuesday’s election, Margaret stated. “My dad was a Democrat and my mom was a Republican but I vote for the person, that’s the best way.”
