Churches join forces to help in emergencies


A Laclede County emergency services group for faith-based organizations got up and running Tuesday night with the election of officers.
The Laclede County COAD (Community Organization Active in Disaster) is being set up to utilize the skills of people in area churches and religious groups.
Office of Emergency Management Director Randy Rowe said the idea is to bring together a group of people with expertise in everything from basic labor to professional counseling.
