A Lebanon resident will be cited for allegedly leaving two dogs without food, water or adequate shelter outside in one of the hottest weeks of the year, which may have led to the death of one of the dogs.

According to a Lebanon Police report, police received a message Thursday alerting them that a German shepherd dog that had been locked in a crate without water in the 2000 block of Foxwood Court had died. Det. Sgt. Kacie Springer said the message included a picture of the deceased animal.
“It was a message that said, this dog has died, you need to come over here,” Springer said.
