City officials thanked voters for renewing the city’s transportation sales tax at Monday night’s Lebanon City Council meeting.
Mayor Jared Carr said the measure’s approval by voters in the Nov. 7 election “speaks volumes about what the community wants to do and what they see has been done over the past 33 years of having that tax.”
Carr said Lebanon’s citizens should be proud of the city’s roads.
“I just got back from Chicago last week and their roads are nowhere near as nice as ours and they have a lot more money than we do,” he said.
Acting/Assistant City Administrator Ben DeClue also thanked voters for renewing the city’s transportation sales tax. He said they hope it is a sign that voters are happy with the direction the city is going in.
