The Laclede County Commission set a deadline of 10 days but only needed one session Thursday to approve a new agreement for collecting City of Lebanon taxes.

The commission sat down with Laclede County Collector Steve Pickering and went over agreements submitted by Western Commissioner Darrell Pollock and the collector to come up with the final agreement. After meeting much of the morning, they voted 3-0 around noon to approve the document.

The contract still needs final approval from the collector and a review for legal issues before going to the Lebanon City Council for approval. Eastern Commissioner Joe Pickering said the collector seemed happy with the agreement.

“I was just over there and ran it by Steve, he’s good with it,” Joe Pickering said.
