Deputy recovers stolen SUV right after theft was reported

t didn’t take long for Laclede County Sheriff’s deputies to recover a stolen 2001 Chevy Suburban.

The theft occurred last Sunday between 3 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Route F, according to a sheriff’s deputy’s report.

The deputy took a report on the theft and, after leaving the scene, said he saw the Suburban parked on Innsbruck Road. The owner could not find anything missing from the vehicle, but noted that the rear right tire tread was worn. 

According to the incident report, the owner showed deputies where the vehicle was parked before it was stolen and the gravel that was disturbed by “quickly accelerating and spinning out.” 

The vehicle was released back to the owner. There are no suspects at this time, according to the report.
