Free eye clinic offered

 
A free eye screening clinic will be held  in Lebanon Friday March 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed from 11 a.m. to noon.  The clinic will be at the Hughes Senior Center, 460 W. 5th Street. 
The purpose of this clinic is to screen for vision problems, malfunctions and malformations of he eyes.  Those attending will be screened for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy  and macular degeneration. Persons who meet Prevention of Blindness eligibility requirements may receive assistance in paying the cost of any recommended services. 
Examinations will be conducted by the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics’  Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia, with assistance from the DSS Prevention of Blindness Unit.  
Interested persons are advised to call early to make an an appointment. The clinic will be canceled if there is not enough interest. To schedule an appointment prior to the clinic date call the Laclede County Health Department at 417-532-2134 and ask for Leslie.
