Motorists in Lebanon were paying quite a bit less than the national average for gas.
The average fuel price in Lebanon the day after Christmas was $2.07 a gallon, according to gaspricewatch.com. This was .37 cents lower than the U.S. national average regular gas price of  $2.44.
Those prices are bit higher than they were a couple of years ago, but analysts expect them to decrease early in 2018.
Average retail gasoline prices in Missouri have risen 4.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.16 a gallon Monday, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com’s daily survey of 3,940 gas outlets in Missouri. This compares with the national average that has increased one cent per gallon in the last week to $2.43 a gallon, according to  Gasbuddy.com.
