The New Life Quartet entertains some ardent gospel music lovers at the Gospel Music Spectacular Saturday.

A few hands waved in the air and all hands applauded as the gospel groups sang their spiritual offerings for the Gospel Music Spectacular held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Cowan Civic Center’s theatre.

The Gospel Music Spectacular also brought out gospel fans Friday night, Saturday evening and Sunday morning and evening.

Duane Garren served as the master of ceremonies and also sang with the audience between groups.

The New Horizons, celebrating their 50th year as a group, opened the Spectacular with three songs.

They were followed by the Freedom Gospel Group, Becky Lercher, the New Life Quartet, Glen Carter and Betty Lathrop, who ended the show with a crowd-pleasing version of “Unseen Hand.”

Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Tom Hargrove was the speaker and Celisa Harris and the Final Authority Quartet were the featured musical guests.

Gospel music has a strong following in Lebanon and brings in folks from the region.
