Hartzler unhurt in deadly train crash

U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo., took this picture of a destroyed garbage truck from her window on the Amtrak train that struck the truck Wednesday morning in Virginia.


U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler was on a train in Virginia with several of her Republican colleagues Wednesday morning when it collided with a garbage truck.
“I am okay. Getting word three people were in truck: one person died. Another lifeflighted. Third walked away. Please keep all in your prayers,” Harztler tweeted Wednesday morning following the wreck. Hartzler is the representative for Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District, which includes Laclede County. Hartzler and several other Republicans, including Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, were on their way to a legislative retreat in West Virginia when the accident happened in Crozet, Virginia.
