Intoxicated man tasered by police

LPD officers tased a heavily intoxicated Lebanon man who punched out the windows of a home during an argument with his wife, according to a police report Monday, at about 9:14 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Michigan Street. The wife of the 34-year-old man stated her husband had been drinking while she was at work and when she came home, he was vandalizing the windows and causing a disturbance witnessed by her and her child, the report says.

Before police arrived the man walked into a wooded area behind the home but returned once officers left. When officers responded again, the man had an open wound on his forearm and was combative as well as intoxicated, the police reported.

When officers tried to restrain him, he began fighting the officers and had to be tased and restrained before emergency medical services arrived to clear him for transport to the Laclede County Jail and placed on 24-hour hold, according to the report.
