Kiwanis hosts movie in the park

Storks 2

What do an inflatable 30-by-24-feet screen, some very big birds, and car loads of people have in common?

They will all be in Atchley Park at dusk Friday for a viewing of the animated movie “Storks” for a Kiwanis Club fundraiser.

“The funds go to The Eliminate Project meant to end maternal and neonatal tetanus on an international level,” said Kathy Peregoy of the Lebanon’s Kiwanis Club.

According to the Kiwanis website, the disease kills 34,000 babies and "a significant number" of women each year.

In 2012, the Lebanon Kiwanis Club pledged to raise $45,000 by 2018 toward the $110 million goal for all American clubs.
