One of the tenets of education is to always try new approaches and techniques.

This past school year was the first year for LHSU, Lebanon High School University, a program meant to give career-specific experience and guidance to LHS students.

Laura Latall is the LHSU’s director.

“LHSU is preparing students for their future, for college and career and whatever their path is, to make sure that they’re doing things in high school that are preparing them for the long term,” said Latall.

Latall said the new approach is more personalized. “The goal is to help each student figure out what they want to do and then guide them to the classes and programs we offer at the high school and in the community that would help them get there so they can rise above the pack if they’re willing to do the extra work.”
