Local man dies in I-44 wreck

A Lebanon man was killed and his wife injured in an accident involving three vehicles at 12:43 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 44, a mile west of Halltown.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2016 Chevrolet Trax driven by Brian Teubner, 37, of Lebanon and a 2016 Peterbilt driven by Tommy W. Blackmon, 56, of Kansas, Okla. were eastbound on the interstate and a westbound 2009 Dodge Ram driven by Terry G. Roberts, 69, of Elkland, was pulling a fifth trailer with a 2003 Jeep Wrangler on it. The Jeep came off the fifth wheel trailer and traveled into the median striking the median cable. The Jeep went airborne and struck the trailer pulled by the Peterbilt. The Jeep continued airborne where it struck Teubner’s vehicle on the top. The Jeep came to rest off the roadway on the south side of the interstate. Teubner’s vehicle continued eastbound traveling off the roadway, coming to rest on the south side of the interstate. The Peterbilt pulled to the eastbound shoulder of the interstate.
Teubner was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Deputy Coroner Don Lakin.
