They are sometimes seen traveling the outer roads of Missouri.

Their drivers usually have a smile on their face and sometimes a huge grin.

They enjoy their hobby and the sound of their Model T Fords from idle to top speed.

And they are coming here.

The Heart of the Ozarks chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America will putter into Lebanon on Thursday, September 7.
They plan to stop at the Lebanon-Laclede County Library and its Route 66 Museum from about 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before taking a lunch break at Dowd’s Catfish and BBQ.

“The library is probably the best place for the public to come and see us. We’ll all be there at that time,” Gemmill said.

The Heart of the Ozark chapter of the club that claims to be the world’s largest Model T Ford club in America will be exploring the “hills and hollers” of the Lake of the Ozarks area on its annual Hillbilly Tour 2017 beginning September 6 through 10.

“This is our 35th annual Hillbilly Tour. What we try to do is a different city or area every year. That’s a challenge in itself,” said Gene Gemmill, one of about 60 members of the Heart of the Ozark chapter in Springfield, Mo. and the editor of the chapter’s T-Paper newsletter.
