New law officer uniforms are coming for the Laclede County Sheriff’s Department.

At its Monday morning meeting, the Laclede County Commission approved the bid of Kelly’s Uniforms of Springfield. The prices are for the individual parts of the uniform.

Kelly’s was slightly higher on some items than the other bidder, Southern Uniforms of Carthage, but commissioners decided the convenience of having the company closer to Laclede County made up for it.

Sheriff David Millsap said Kelly’s is a closer drive and a company representative is in the area often.

Millsap told the commission he had been using Frank’s Uniforms of Springfield, but they did not submit a bid for the new uniforms, which will be tan and black in color.
