The Lebanon City Council Monday night approved new playground equipment for Atchley Park.

The price was $11,650 from Athco of Lenexa, Kan.

Parks Director John Shelton said the new play set was designed for children ages 2 to 5 years old and will be placed to the west of the existing playground and next to the restroom facility. The playground, which will be red and blue, will be fenced in with the existing playground.

“We think it will get a lot of use,” Shelton said. “It’s small enough that it will be hard for the older kids to use, so I think it will be a great addition. Moms and dads will be able to sit back and watch their kids.”
