“We are the best kept secret in Lebanon,” Lorie Jones said of the Hughes Senior Center.

She sees the seniors enjoying the center every day and wants to give more seniors that chance.

Consequently, Jones tries to get the word out by speaking to various service organizations like the Lebanon Rotary Club and the Lebanon Kiwanis Club.

Jones has been the administrator since January of 2008 and worked there for years before that.

The Hughes Senior Center has a regular clientele that appreciate the center and Jones as well.

“We’ve got a very good manager, Miss Lorie, and food daily five days a week. It’s a place for us to get out. Just like right now, my wife is shopping, so I’m in here staying out of her way,” Dennis Lawrance, a frequent visitor to the center, said.

Lowrance has plenty of opportunities to stay out of his wife’s way since the Hughes Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8-4 p.m.
