After meeting in closed session for a real estate discussion Wednesday, the Lebanon Park Board discussed improvements to area parks, upcoming events and a possible update to the Boswell Aquatic Center.

Park Director John Shelton showed the results of refurbishing some Atchley Park playground equipment and placing it in Spiller Park. He estimated the cost of similar new equipment at about $30,000 with the cost of the sandblasted and repainted equipment at nearly $4,000, a savings of about $26,000.

Assistant Park Director Elliot Wilburn pointed out that Spiller Park gets used a lot by the students of a nearby church school.

Shelton presented photos of the newly painted Boswell Aquatic Center and commented on how some of the pool’s furnishings were lasting longer than expected.
