Thefts reported in county


Several thefts occurred in Laclede County over the holiday weekend, according to three Sheriff’s Office reports.

A Berry Road resident reported the earlier theft of two 12-volt dry charge batteries from a building on his farm. He valued the batteries at about $440.

According to another report, thieves nabbed four batteries from an Iowa Road residence, including those taken from a winch and a tractor. The residents borrowed batteries from friends to continue working their farm.

A third report targeted the theft of a Whirlpool stove and dishwasher from an unoccupied home on Missouri 32. Thieves damaged the interior removing them and while looking for other property to steal as well as forcing a shop building door.
