A man with two felony violations avoided capture through illegal driving.

According to a report by the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted to stop a maroon Ford Ranger Friday at 6:00 a.m. after noticing a missing plate and a broken taillight.

The man driving ignored lights, sirens and stop signs and swerved into both lanes of traffic.

The deputy discontinued pursuit when he became concerned for the safety of other motorists and the other occupants of the car, a woman and child.

He continued to observe the suspect’s car until it entered Camden County, the report said.

Another deputy discovered the vehicle parked on Hwy. F near BB. The man fled the vehicle before deputies discovered the car.

According to the report, a search revealed no illegal items or evidence and was towed.

The deputy transported the woman and her infant to the Laclede County Jail for more questioning.
