YMCA After School in Lebanon has received a Certificate of Accreditation from Missouri Accreditation.

The Missouri Accreditation of Programs for Children and Youth said, in a press release, that the certificate is granted to “quality programs that offer developmentally appropriate experiences in an environment conducive to children flourishing intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.”

Brandi Prock, Lebanon Family YMCA executive director, said the after school program, held at Esther Elementary School, is also licensed by the state.

“Accreditation is just a step above that, saying that our staff goes through training that’s necessary to be a good child caregiver,” she said. “Then when accreditation comes out, they look at the relationships between the children and the staff, children to children relationships, making sure we’re fostering those.”
