After a two game losing streak, the Lebanon High School football team got back in the win column with a win over the Hillcrest Hornets in a back-and-forth contest on Friday night at ‘Jacket Stadium, 43-36.

It was the Lebanon defense who rose to the occasion on Friday night after struggling most of the game to get off the field. With three seconds remaining on the clock, the Hornets needed just three yards to cut the deficit to one point, but LHS got a big tackle from Curtis Mobley and John Berry to stuff Hillcrest on the one yard line to secure the victory as time expired.

In the third quarter after a Malik Starks one-yard touchdown run for the Hornets, Lebanon senior quarterback Cole Breeden scampered into the end zone to give Lebanon a 35-28 lead with 0:31 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Breeden would score his second touchdown of the night with 6:48 remaining in the game to cap the scoring. The ‘Jackets recovered the ensuing kickoff, but could not capitalize, as senior John Berry punted the ball back to the Hornets and and pinned them on the seven-yard line setting up the final drive of the game with 4:03 remaining in the game.
