Lebanon producing renewable energy

Lebanon’s new solar farm is now in operation and generating power for the city.
A dedication ceremony for the new facility was held Tuesday
Loren Williamson, senior Vice President of MC Power Companies said homes and businesses in Lebanon will benefit from the power production at the solar farm and in other ways as well.
“A lot of cities see this as a catalyst for economic development, being able to satisfy some of the internal commercial industrial customers they serve, being able to satisfy some of the residents that have a desire to be able to look at renewables as a source of their  personal generation,” Williamson said. “A lot of people like to move to communities with these types of projects.”
Williamson said solar power also helps communities meet possible goals for carbon emission reductions or clean energy.
The Lebanon solar farm is a 3 megawatt project with a little over 10,000 solar panels, according to Williamson.
