The Lebanon Yellowjackets are still in search for their first win of the short season, dropping a non-conference game against the Marshfield Blue Jays at home on Tuesday night, 60-55.

The ‘Jackets led throughout most of the game, but lost the lead early on in the fourth quarter and trailed by as many as five points after a three-pointer by Jacob Villines extended the Marshfield (4-1) lead with three minutes to play.

Lebanon (0-3) would not be denied after sophomore Jordan Lewis scored seven straight points for the ‘Jackets on beautiful passes from Brady Hays and Quenton Shelton to tie the game with 1:47 remaining in the game.

Unfortunately for Lebanon, the Bluejays were able to capitalize from the free throw line and off two costly turnovers down the stretch to seal the game.

“We have a lot of opportunities to learn and watch video,” Lebanon head coach Thornhill said about the end of the game. “We had a couple of turnovers that were costly; some missed shots at the baskets as well, so we will just need to work on that and improve heading into our next game.

“The game came down to if we could get stops and make them guard us man-to-man. Our zone offense isn’t bad, but we weren’t very good against us last night.”
