LHS wrestling team remains undefeated with win over Ozark on Tuesday

n front of a packed house, the Lebanon High School wrestling team remained undefeated in dual matches, defeating the Ozark Tigers 42-24 on Tuesday night at Dr. Tom Luthy Fieldhouse.

Coming off a second-place finish at the Neosho Tournament last weekend, the ‘Jackets were ready to wrestle from the beginning, winning four out of the first six matches of the night.
Winners from those matches included Hogan Fisher (113 pounds), freshman Cael Schmitz (120) defeated his opponent by a score of 9-1, sophomore Cole Roark (132) handled his opponent with ease winning 14-5, and senior Cade Schmitz (138) beat his opponent by a score of 5-0.

After those matches, the ‘Jackets lead by an overall score of 14-9 on the night.

Heading into the 145-pound weight class, state-medalist Trevor Christian defeated Cooper St. John 17-5. The ‘Jackets would not look back after the Christian win, winning three out of the next four matches including wins from Caleb Shields (152) who pinned his opponent in the third period, Reagan Mowery (160) pinned his opponent in the second period, and Ty Glendenning was able to defeat his respective opponent, 3-0 after Glendenning was able to get a reversal and escape to extend the ‘Jackets’ lead to 36-15.

Landen Smith capped off the LHS win in the 220-pound weight class with a pin in the first period to give Lebanon a 42-18 lead heading into the final match.

The junior varsity defeated Ozark 127-36.

Lebanon will wrestle today at the Missouri Duals at Helias High School.
