Calvin Ray McLaine

Calvin Ray McLaine, 89, of Lebanon, died Monday morning, Dec. 18, 2017, in Cox Medical South in Springfield.

He was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Miola, Pa. to John Ray and Helen Genevieve Avery McLaine.

On Oct. 15, 1961, he married Betty Lou Nunaley, who preceded him in death on June 14, 2014. On April 17, 2017, he married Sandy Fury.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Matthew Warren McLaine and Randolph Wyatt; a brother, Richard McLaine, and two sisters, Maudia Franklin and Phyllis Wassom.

Calvin was raised in Pennsylvania and then entered the U.S. Navy as a young man. He served his country faithfully for a number of years before retiring. He had made his home in California, Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma before moving to Missouri. He also had made leather products such as boots for a time.

He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Lebanon.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of the home; two stepdaughters, Karen Horne, of Hermitage and Betsy Rider, of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters; one son; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Hamby and her husband, Kenneth, of Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Calvin Ray McLaine will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Morrison officiating.

Burial will be in New Home Cemetery, near Falcon, with Full Military Honors, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.

Visitation will at 1 p.m. until service time Thursday in the funeral home.
