William Howard Densford, 82, of Lebanon, died Monday evening, Jan. 29, 2018, at Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born Feb. 16, 1935, to William and Ruth Ford Densford, who preceded him in death.
On Aug. 18, 1955, he married Alberta Jean Newkirk.
He grew up in Norwood, Ohio and graduated with his Bachelors Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. He also received a Master’s Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He began his teaching career in Cincinnati, Ohio and taught elementary there for most of his life. He and his family also lived in Lynchburg, Va. for a time, moving there in 1997. William also worked part-time in the newspaper and had a regular route. In 2014 he and Jean settled in Lebanon.
William was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Norwood, Ohio and Madison Heights, Va. He was very active in all phases of the church. He worked in the youth ministry and his faith was central to his life. He most recently attended Freedom Church of the Nazarene in Lebanon.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Densford of Lebanon; a daughter, Laura Kitts, of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, Daryl Densford and his wife, Holly, of Lebanon; two brothers, Robert “Bob’’ Densford and his wife, Sharon, of Glendora, Calif. and Byron Densford and his wife, Charlotte, of Santee, Calif.; a sister, Marilyn Newcomer, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Jordan, Hannah, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Olivia, Julia, and Heidi; and three great-grandchildren, Cole, Gabriel, and Isaac.
Funeral services for William Howard Densford will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Jones officiating, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
