Businesspeople worried about plans to turn the Forest Manor Motel on the Route 66 strip into a short-term homeless shelter expressed their concerns Thursday night in a meeting with the pastor who is leading the effort.
Ministers of Fire Pastor Mike Duran addressed the crowd of about 30 people on hand at Taste of Andy’s located at 1225 Millcreek Road, a little more than a stone’s throw away from Forest Manor. One of the concerns  raised about the endeavor had to do with the age-old real estate adage: location, location, location.
“I wanted to reassure (nearby businesses) we aren’t going to run it like the old Forest Manor. Those receiving help will have rules and regulations they have to follow,” Duran said.
