It's just the ice

Noisy roofs are apparently one unexpected side effect of the recent icy weather.
Snapping and popping sounds coming from the roof were a common sound Sunday night as ice melted and refroze.  Several area people reported on Facebook that they heard the sounds overnight Sunday into Monday morning, before the ice finally melted away later on Monday.
The strange sounds were no big deal, according to Joe Berkich, the City of Lebanon’s building official.
“I have received a lot of calls about this last night. It is the Ice breaking and thawing, it is nothing to be  concerned about, it should be over now,” Berkich said in email to the Daily Record on Monday.
