To drink or not to drink

Two proposals that could expand alcohol sales in the city drew controversy at a Lebanon City Council meeting this month and received a mixed reaction online in a Lebanon Daily Record poll with most in favor.
Ordinances that would allow alcohol in city parks at special events and at sidewalk restaurants received first reading approval from the Council and could be set for final approval at next week’s meeting.
On the Lebanon Daily Record website, a poll asked readers how they felt about the proposals. As of Tuesday morning, a little less than half, representing 252 votes or 49 percent, said they would support serving alcohol at both park events and sidewalk restaurants. A total of 40 percent representing 204 votes aid they would not support alcohol being served at either sidewalk restaurants or park events.
