Youth swim club competes at regionals

The Lebanon youth swim club competed at the regional event in Monett this past weekend. The ‘Jackets finished second overall and qualified 25/37 of their swimmers. It was a successful weekend for the Lebanon youth swim club as the ‘Jackets competed at the Monett Regional event.

The team finished second overall with 3,500 points, and finished 700 points behind first-place Carthage. The Lebanon swim team features just 37 swimmers compared to 67 kids for the Carthage swim team.

During the event, the ‘Jackets were able to break 16  records at the regional event and qualified 25/37 swimmers for area qualification.

According to head coach Chris Williams, he said with his team qualifying 68 percent that the norm is usually about 25 percent of a team.
