Billie H. Goans, 72, of Lebanon, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2018, in Mercy Hospital Springfield.
He was born June 1, 1945, in Lebanon, Mo. to Howard and Lottie Jones Goans, who preceded him in death.
On Dec. 9, 1966, he married Carol Marshall.
He was born and raised in Lebanon, and graduated from Lebanon High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from 1965 until 1967, and was stationed in Germany. After he and Carol were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their family. He then went to work for the Durham Company for a couple of years before being employed by Mid-America Dairy until it closed. He worked for the Roberson Dairy in Kansas City, Mo., until retiring in 2004. Billie was a member of the Teamster’s Union. He loved fox trotting horses and took part in the Fox Trotting Association events. He also liked working on his farm.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home; a daughter, Christine Perryman and her husband, Bruce, of Lebanon; three sons, Brian Goans and his wife, Anne, of Strafford; Bradley Goans, of Sedalia, and Brent Goans and his wife, Sherri, of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren, Alex, Christopher, Hannah, Brennon, Austin, Jack, Justin, Reagan, Britney, Breelynn, and Troy; one great-grandchild, Hunter, and one eagerly anticipated, Ava; and a sister, Bonnie Medley, of Lebanon.
Funeral services for Billie H. Goans will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in White Oak Pond Cemetery with Full Military Honors, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
