Bobby Gene Gooch, 80, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday morning, March 2, 2017, at his home near Phillipsburg.
He was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Manila, Ark., to Floyd and Louise Eason Gooch.
On Aug. 8, 1968, he married Gwen R. Bangert and to this union one daughter was born. 
On Feb. 14, 2005, he married Linda L. Osborne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Louis, J.L. and James Gooch, and two sisters, Barbara Goring and Ruby Willis.
Bobby was born and raised in Arkansas and St. Louis, and then served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army for 21 years, and had three tours of duty in Germany and one in Vietnam. He retired on July 1, 1979 with a rank of First Sergeant. After retiring, he moved to the Lebanon area and worked for M.F.A. for a time. He then worked at Tracker Marine for several years.
He was very active in the V.F.W. Post No. 4107 and served as Commander from 2003 to 2004. He served on the Honor Guard and was director of it for many years. He also managed the Moose Lodge for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; a former and wife and friend, Gwen Gooch, of Lebanon; a daughter, Vickie Waterman and her husband, Matt, of Lebanon; two grandsons, Robert Gooch and his fiancee’, Breanna, and Cole Waterman; a great-grandson, Mason; and a sister, Edna Odorizzi, of Lebanon.
Funeral services for Bobby Gene Gooch will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery near Fort Leonard Wood, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorial donations to V.F.W. Post No. 4107 may be made through the funeral home.
