Carolyn Bumgarner, 79, of Columbia, formerly of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, in Columbia.
She was born Jan. 21, 1938, in Clarksville, Texas to Rupert and Margaret Welch Blackmon.
On June 3, 1956 she married James R. “Bo’’ Bumgarner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 10, 2004, and one brother, Barry Blackmon.
Carolyn was an assistant to Dr. Louis Bealer in Lebanon for many years. After her retirement, she helped with Knight Auction Service for Gerald and Wanda Knight. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, golfing, traveling and daily happy hour with friends.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Bumgarner and Kenya, of St. Louis and Rusty Bumgarner, of Fulton; one daughter, Barri Lyn Bumgarner and Marsha Tyson, of Columbia; five grandchildren, Anna Morrison and Ross, Luke Bumgarner and Trey Bumgarner, Christine Taylor, and Nicky Moreno; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service for Carolyn Bumgarner will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Marsha Vincent officiating.
Burial will be at a later date. At her request, her body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
