Carroll Elzey, 81, of Waynesville, died Thursday Nov. 9, 2017, in Waynesville.

He was born Nov. 6, 1936, in Waynesville, Mo. (Turkey Ridge) to Wesley A. and Retta Oliver Ellzey.

In August of 1971 he married Barbara Ann Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Timmy Dean and Riley Ellzey; one daughter, Tena Ellzey; three sisters, Iva Moore, Betty Filby, and Pauline Hammond; two brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Ellzey; one great-grandson, Landon Crow, and one great-granddaughter, Justine Cundiff.

Following his time in the service, he was a welder and contractor for Wal-Mart for 15 years and later was employed with the street department in Carthage.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Billy Joe Ellzey (Susie), of Richland; Wesley Alvin Ellzey, of Waynesville; two daughters, Tawania June Sisco (Dale), of Richland; Rose Loraine Becker, of Vista, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Brooke, Tisha, Tiffany, Tena, Jadyn, Sierra, Samantha, Chad, Daniel, and Christina; one brother, Jerome Ellzey (Mary Lou) and one sister, Irene Berry, all of Waynesville; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Carroll Ellzey will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 in Shadel’s Colonial Chapel in Lebanon with the Rev. Chris Hendrix officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Marines.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Wednesday also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.

Memorials have been suggested to the Hunters Education Fund, and donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
