Clella Ruth Light, 99, of Lebanon, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, in Lebanon.
She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Laclede County, Mo. to Edward J. and Mattie S. Haines Stith.
On May 16, 1935, she married Olan Light.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olan Light on Dec. 10, 1988, and two brothers, Noel and E. Jay Stith.
Clella was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She also started the first Bible School and was actively involved for more than 60 years.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Light and his wife, Farron, of Nashville, Tenn.; Robert Light and his wife, Sharan, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Michael Light and wife, Patty, of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Anna Ruth Coats and her husband, Stuart, Rebecca Fiechtl and her husband, James, Craig Light and his wife, Patrice, John Light and his wife, Jennifer, Sarah Armstrong and her husband, Eddie, Shawn Light and his wife, Sara and Scott Light and his wife, Sara; Sandi Hoffman and her husband, Adam; 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives, church family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life funeral service for Clella Ruth Light will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Perry Wolfe officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
