Earl Taeger, 94, of Lebanon, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 28, 2018.
He was born March 5, 1923, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Alfred Taeger and Helen Larkin.
On June 14, 1952, he married Mary Wheeler Taeger in Arkansas, who preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1994. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Tim and Morgan Taeger, and one grandson, Brett Taeger.
He was a machinist for Colgate Palmolive for 30 years. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy on a mine layer. He served several years in the South Park Volunteer Fire Dept. and as their treasurer.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Taeger and his wife, Joyce, of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Marel Johnston and husband, Rick, of Lebanon, and Kathy Taeger, of Shawnee, Kan.; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Earl Taeger will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at McGilley and Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel in Overland Park, Kan. with James Clay Tillett officiating.
Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-noon in the funeral home.
