HELEN L. WINKLER

Helen L. Winkler, 74, of Lebanon, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, in Lebanon.
She was born Nov. 3, 1943, near Drynob, Mo. to Leslie Ernest and Phyllis Marjorie Elmore McFarland.
On June 16, 1962, she married Joe Brackett. On May 13, 1983, she married Marvin Jay Winkler.
Helen Winkler was raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1961. After she married Joe Brackett, they made their home on a farm near Lebanon and lovingly raised their children.  Helen Winkler was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked for the H.D. Lee company for several years. Once she married Marvin Winkler, she helped on their beef farm and sold insurance for a time. She also worked as a school bus driver for several years. Later, she moved to Springfield, Mo. for a short time and worked as a greeter at Walmart and also drove a school bus. She then retired and returned to Lebanon.
Helen L. Winkler was raised in Antioch Baptist Church. She then attended Second Freewill Baptist Church until moving to Springfield, where she attended Cherry Street Baptist Church. After returning to Lebanon, she again attended Second Freewill Baptist Church.
Helen L. Winkler is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tom Leslie Brackett; and her special furry companions Precious, Fancy, Tommy Boy and Prissy.
She is survived by a daughter, Susanne Neal, and her husband Tim, of Lebanon; a son, Scott Brackett, of Lebanon; a daughter-in-law, Mary Brackett, of Belton; a sister, Glenda Grace and her husband Ron, of Lebanon; a brother, David McFarland and his wife Toni, of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Erick Neal, Jesse Vekaryasz and her husband Eric, Caleb Brackett and his wife Nettie, Dani Fajen and her husband Aaron, Paul Wice and his fiancée Keriann Batteglia, and Peter Wice; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Maverick Brackett and Phoenix Wice; an aunt, Dourthy Southard of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; many other special friends; and her beloved cats Sassy and Rambo.
Services for Helen L. Winkler will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 in Holman Howe Funeral Home with Rev. David Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park.
Visitation was scheduled for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
