John Edwin "Eddie'' Candler

John Edwin "Eddie'' Candler, 76, of Russ, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in his home near Russ.
He was born March 15, 1940, near Lebanon, Mo. to Clyde and Cordelia J. Jones Candler.
On Aug. 20, 1965, he married Marcella Frances Abbey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Eric Candler, and two brothers, Omar and Raymond Candler.

Eddie lived his entire life in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1958. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army National Guard. After he and Marcella were married, they made their home on their farm near Russ, and lovingly raised their family. He worked for Laclede Metal Products for three years, and then was one of six workers to help George Ed Carr in starting The Durham Company, where he worked for 38 years.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella, of the home; a daughter, Belinda Clark and her husband, Gene, of Lebanon; two sons, Jeffery Candler, of Lebanon and Aaron Candler, of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, Katlyn, Hannah, Selbi, Megan, Jeffrey and his wife, Emily, Taylor and her husband, Justin, Brittany and her husband, Dillon, Tiffany, Connor, Nikki, and Courtney; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Cleo Candler, of Lebanon; a special sister-in-law, Colleen Abbey, of Lebanon, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for John Edwin "Eddie'' Candler will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. David Douglas and Gene Clark officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
