Larry David Howe, 76, of Kansas City, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Kansas City.
He was born June 25, 1940, near Long Lane, Mo. to Dorsey M. and Merle Burd Howe.
On Oct. 3, 1961, he married Jane Marie “Janie’’ Biggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Bethel M. Howe; a brother, Leland Howe, and two sisters, Bonnie Middleton and Carol Howe.
Larry David Howe was raised in the Long Lane and Lebanon areas and attended Lebanon R-3 Schools. He entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army, stationed in Newfoundland. He then made his home in the Kansas City area and worked for the Ford Motor Company for a few years. He then began a career with the railroad and started with the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad and later with the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Janie, of the home; a daughter, Shelly Armato and her husband, Dominick, of Kansas City; a son, Rick Howe, of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Alexander, Blake, Addison, William, Otto, and Tatum; four great-grandchildren, Van, Layla, Elam, and Cal; a brother, Kenneth Howe and his wife, Valerie, of Lebanon; a sister, Gerry Nutter and her husband, Larry, of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Larry David Howe will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Clement officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorial donations to Bear Thicket Church may be made through the funeral home.
