Leon Henry Von Holten, 82, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, in Sedalia.
He was born April 10, 1935, near Stover, Mo. to Herbert and Josiphine (Monsees) Von Holten, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Von Holten and Craig Von Holten, and a sister, Nila Holcroft.
On May 21, 1958, he was united in marriage to Bonnie G. (Howell) Von Holten.
He served three years in the United States Army during the Korean War. Leon worked as a route salesman for AirGas. His hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed life, laughing and talking with friends, and will be remembered for his orneriness.
Leon was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Camdenton.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie, of the home; a son, Neil Von Holten and his wife, Sheryl, of Sedalia, and two granddaughters, Amy and Mary.
Services for Leon Henry Von Holten will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home of Sedalia.
