Lester Jewell Rhoads, 88, of Falcon, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, in Lebanon.
He was born March 12, 1929, in Laclede County, Mo. to Lester and Evelyn Kay Kamerer Rhoads.
On July 3, 1955, he married Clara Jean Goldinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara, on Feb. 1, 2018; one brother, Sheril Rhoads; one grandson, Nikolas Wanner, and one great-grandson, Isaiah Rhoads.
He was a longtime farmer in the Falcon community.
Lester Jewell Rhoads was an active and faithful member of Sunnyview Free Will Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon and taught the Adult Sunday School class for many years.
He is survived by one son, Johnny Rhoads, of Falcon; three daughters, Kathy Elaine Rhoads, Carla Jean Rhoads and Peggy Davenport, all of Falcon; one brother, Donald Dean Rhoads (Nancy), of Belton; one sister, Mary Evelyn Franklin (Dale), of Kansas; six grandchildren, John Rhoads, Matthew Rhoads, Kayla Davis, Stephanie Brumley, Tyler Knudtson and Ashley Dickey; 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lester Jewell Rhoads will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Bruce Doublin officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Salem Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will also be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday in the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Mount Salem Cemetery and donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
